A little clarity.
A lot less guessing.
Learn about local tools, Pro uploads, ZIP downloads and licence access.
What is Dropshift?
Dropshift is a Chrome extension that brings image conversion, PDF tools and useful webpage actions into your browser side panel. Free tools work locally; Pro adds server-based document conversion, OCR and extraction.
Which tools are free?
Local image conversion, image-to-PDF, PDF-to-image, PDF merge and split, and supported webpage actions are included in Free. Pro is for heavier document conversion, OCR, PDF security and extraction.
Do my files leave my computer?
Free local tools process files in your browser. Pro tools upload the file you select to the Dropshift conversion service after confirmation. Temporary conversion files are removed after the request.
What counts as a Pro operation?
One successfully processed file through a Pro conversion endpoint counts as one operation. A bulk job with five successful files counts as five. Failed conversions do not use the successful-operation allowance.
Are the Monthly and Yearly tools different?
No. Both Pro subscriptions unlock the same tools and allow three active devices per licence. The billing schedule and price are different.
Can I use Dropshift on multiple devices?
A Pro licence supports up to three active devices. Re-activating the same device does not use another slot. Deactivating a device frees a slot for another one.
Does it work offline?
Local file tools can work without the conversion server once the extension and its required assets are available. Pro conversions and licence verification need an internet connection. Browser actions also depend on the page you are using.
Can I convert multiple files at once?
Supported file workflows accept multiple files and offer a ZIP when there are multiple outputs. Pro usage is counted per successful file, not per ZIP. Large batches depend on available memory and service limits.
