How to use Image converter
- Choose your images from the Dropshift side panel. You can add multiple supported files.
- Pick JPG, PNG or WebP. Use JPG for photos, PNG for transparency, and WebP when supported by your destination.
- Run the conversion and save your results. Multiple outputs can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
A few useful details
Image conversion runs locally in the extension, so these files do not need the Pro conversion server. Start with the original image whenever possible: converting an already compressed image cannot restore missing detail.
What to know first
JPG does not preserve transparency. Animated inputs and less common encodings may not retain every original property. Keep the originals and inspect your output.
Common questions
Can I convert HEIC photos to JPG?
Yes. Select supported HEIC photos, choose JPG, and download the converted files. Large batches are limited by your device’s available memory.
Does PNG conversion make a photo sharper?
No. PNG can preserve existing detail without adding JPEG compression, but it cannot recreate detail missing from the source.
