How to use Word to PDF
- Choose Word to PDF in Dropshift and add your DOC or DOCX file.
- Confirm the upload. The conversion service renders the document into a PDF.
- Download the result and check page breaks, fonts and images before sending.
A few useful details
The server uses LibreOffice to render Word documents. This works best for straightforward documents with common fonts. A quick visual review is useful whenever a document moves between different editing and rendering applications.
What to know first
Unavailable fonts, complex layouts and application-specific features can render differently. Macros are not a supported workflow.
Pro uploads are limited to 50 MB per file and 50 PDF pages. OCR, including automatic OCR during conversion, is limited to 20 pages. Each successful file uses one operation. Review the current plan allowance before processing a batch.
Common questions
Can I convert older DOC files?
Both DOC and DOCX inputs are supported, subject to file validation and conversion compatibility.
Why might a font look different?
If the source font is unavailable on the conversion server, a substitute may be used. Check the exported PDF before sharing.
